Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Maxed & Minned ("we", "us") is an independent site offering Baldur's Gate 3 build tools and guides. We take a privacy-first approach: we don't use tracking cookies, we don't run advertising trackers, and we don't build profiles of our visitors. This page explains what limited data we handle and why.
Who we are (data controller)
Maxed & Minned is operated by MIXTE MEDIA, a French société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle (SASU), which is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy:
- Registered office: 25 Rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France
- Registration: RCS Paris — SIREN 984 552 117
- Privacy contact: privacy@maxedandminned.com
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate site usage — for example, how many people visit a page or use the Build Planner. Plausible is a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect any personal data or personally identifiable information. All measurements are aggregated and cannot be used to identify you or to track you across other websites or over time. Analytics data is processed on servers located in the European Union. For full detail, see Plausible's data policy.
We also record a small number of anonymous interaction events (for example, when someone copies a shareable link from the Build Planner) to see which features are useful. These events contain no personal data.
The Build Planner
The Build Planner runs entirely in your browser. Your build selections are encoded into the page URL so you can bookmark or share them — they are not saved in an application database or tied to any account. When you open a shared or bookmarked planner link, the full URL (including the encoded selections) is part of the request to our hosting provider, so it may appear in standard hosting logs like any other page request.
Email updates
If you choose to sign up for email updates, we collect the email address you provide and use it only to send occasional updates about the site. Signup uses confirmed (double) opt-in: we send a confirmation email first, and you are only added to the list once you confirm. We will never sell or rent your email address, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
Email addresses are stored and processed on our behalf byButtondown, our email service provider. SeeButtondown's privacy policy for details.
International data transfers
Buttondown is based in the United States, so signing up for email updates involves transferring your email address outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred to a provider outside the EEA, we rely on the safeguards offered by that provider, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for more detail using the privacy contact above.
Hosting and server logs
Our site is hosted on Vercel. Like most web hosts, Vercel automatically processes standard technical information (such as IP address and browser/system information) in server logs to deliver the site securely and reliably. See Vercel's privacy notice for details.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and our analytics is cookieless. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent beforehand.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
- Analytics: our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate, non-personal usage of the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because Plausible collects no personal data, this processing has minimal privacy impact.
- Email updates: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- Hosting, security, and reliability: our legitimate interest in operating the site safely and reliably (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our hosting provider processes standard request data, such as IP address and browser/system information, to serve and protect the site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.
Data retention
Plausible analytics data is retained only in aggregate form. We do not keep our own independent server-log database; our hosting provider (Vercel) retains hosting and request logs in line with its own service settings and policies. If you sign up for email updates, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Third parties
We share data only with the service providers that help us run the site: Plausible (analytics), Vercel (hosting), and Buttondown (email updates). We do not sell your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
